At Computer - 1

I'm changing the format a little of this blog to be a writing blog. Perhaps just to count how many times I sit at a little screen, and also just to write for fun. This is the poetry challenge. The poetry of sitting at my computer amidst work to take a moment of time to observe and reflect on life. When I have written 365 observations, I will publish this and give it to my friends and family, since I'm pretty sure this blog is not read by anyone except the occassional advertiser or lewd comment crusader.

So Here Goes Poem # 1: Up Into the Falling Down.

It would be nice to rip off my body
to let my spirit free into the sky.
If this could be my pleasure
I really wouldn't need to die.
For then I could float in mossy forests
and dance with the mist
that hangs on ancient ferns
this would be heaven I do insist.
The clouds would be my living room
and the storms would be my feelings
the sun would be my best friend
and the butterflies would do my dealings.
Setting out for Cappadocia
I would alight upon a chimney
and watch a sun at setting call
so that I could be excited for the morning to enthrall.
When the rise of day returns
I would dive into the sea
and sing with the whales
making their way along with me.
When autumn comes I would travel
to where the cherry blossoms fall
so in swirling petals I could spin
with a soft pink and fluttering shawl.
In winter I would visit
the icy palaces of antartica
and waddle skate with crazy penguins
that do not know a thaw
and into the snow I would hurdle
myself into the sky
up into the falling down
of white lace drops that grace mine eye.
